Silo / Ore Hopper - Daffrid | |||
| To complement some of my other 'industrial' terrain
I constructed the following Ore Hopper. It was relatively easy to
construct being simply an MDF box with a tapered base and angled square dowel legs
(collected free from fired rockets from bonfire night).
The belt and it's supports were again made from square dowel with circular dowel runners tacked into place (so in theory it does rotate) the belt itself is made from cardboard, (the packing crate variety) with one of the surfaces removed. The whole thing was then stuck to a solid MDF base and painted appropriately with a mixture of greys and rust like colours with the odd bit of dark green to hint at biological weathering, the base was covered in sand and painted to create a Mars like affect. Finally loose gravel (for model railways I think) was added to the hopper to finish the affect.
