Rock Piles - Daffrid

These Rock formations or 'Piles of elephant sh*te' as Dysartes once called them are really easy to construct, add level to a games table and when placed closely enough apart provide handy hopping positions or cover for Biovores.

The process of making them is a fun if messy one, basically I took some sheet polystyrene, the packaging stuff, and then broke it up, hacked at it a bit with pen knife and filed it until I had the desired shapes, then I carefully sanded the blocks with fine sandpaper to smooth them off. [NB the alternative to this is using a melty wire thing which GW will charge you lots for, this is fine, but my way is more fun]

The next step is to stick them together, I would suggest PVA glue or equivalents as other glues may melt the polystyrene.

After they are stuck the next easy task is to paint them (don't undercoat them with a GW spray paint as they will melt and you'll end up with a nice Gaudi dribble affect). To paint them I used the left over paints from when I painted my games table, i.e. browns and reds to be honest I think you can be quite sloppy with your painted as you are imitating nature and nature is sloppy .
