Out To Dry - Ozzy

So hi - as a non member, a lot of people might not know me and the ones who do will start banging their heads about now; but hi anyway. As a long standing 40k player of about 11 yrs now and a dwarf player for a year or so, I have just started looking to get to grips with the Warhammer way, so a new challenge is now called for - but what to go for? Hmm...

As people who have played me can say, I’m a tight fisted git and will use as many plastics as possible to save on costs, as I think some of the metals can be a bit over priced and if converted to plastics more people would be likely to use them due to the reduced cost. The fact that I am always adding to my army’s kind of means I have haven’t really ever finished one off, so this will hopefully be a great way for me to stop the rot (I hope).

But what army should I go for? There has really only been one list that caught my imagination and a lot of other peoples, by the sounds of it, but how to get all the models I will need? But lets start at the beginning - after buying the Storm of Chaos book, an additional list took my fancy as this fitted the background of the race and had been missing for too long. Whilst open to accusations of being beardy, its not as bad as the Slayer list. This should have been done long before now, but then again what would we have to look forward to if they did all the cool stuff first!

Yes, it will be a Cult army of Slaanesh, so I’ve gone all Dark PEG 1. But what to get first and how to start buying the lot? Well, lets try and get all the basic troop choices first or a third at least so how about:

ItemQtyTypeCost
Chaos Marauders1Box£15
Dark Elf Warriors1Box£15
Mengil's Manflayers1Box£20
Daemonettes1Blister£6
Total Cost£56

With that done I have a spare £4 for next month, a possible mail order I think (yes that did hurt!) or something along those lines. So with 3 core choices picked I can now have a little test to see how these perform and look at my next choices for this force. While having done several different army list for myself and up to around 4k worth of troops and characters it is a list mainly using the marauders models, a lot of daemonettes and a small d-peg contingent, as this would suit the feel of this list and still keep the overall feeling of speed and dark power that is in the main source book.

Ok, now for the interesting bit - what overall colour scheme should they be? Well, a pastel pallet should be my core choice for flesh and fabrics but what would stand out against the light blues and pale pinks better than a dark green, black or even blue! So let’s give it a try and see what I come up with while painting. Well, once I’ve found those clippers, anyway.

But till next time bugger off and let me paint!
Ozzy!!!
