Unleash the Dogs of War - Dysartes
| So, let the challenge commence! The problem with collecting a new army on such a tight budget, as I see it, is the length of time it'll take to get a legal army. At £30 a month, it is possible to either buy two plastic squad boxes, or a box and some blisters or bits. This month, I'm doing the latter of the two options.
Before I go any further, let me introduce you to the reason for my choice of army for this feature:
Wolf Priest Sternhammer, the 2003 Games Day figure. He is a really nice model, ideal as a Space Wolf or 13th Company Wolf Priest. Even if you don't collect either army, I'd recommend getting him just to paint. Having said that, I didn't paint him - Shas'o Sodit did. While Sternhammer has some nice rules, he is a special character who requires your opponents consent to use. Due to this, I'm unlikely to field him as the character he is meant to be, but he will definately be featuring as a Wolf Priest. Troops are an easy selection to make in a 13th Company army, as you only have one choice - Grey Slayers. A box of these will make a good start for my army, especially as they're quite hard for a basic trooper. To finish off my spending for this month, a short call to Mail Order was required. As I'm aiming for seven-man packs for my Grey Slayers, I ordered the two plasma guns I'll need for one of the packs, as well as a spare Space Wolf accessory sprue. With this little lot I've been able to build one pack of Grey Slayers, including a Wolf Guard Pack Leader and two plasma guns, as wel as building a second Wolf Guard Pack Leader and two meltaguns for my second pack of Grey Slayers. So, to recap my spending:
So, after month one, I have £3 left over to add to the kitty for next month. See you then.
