Okay! Have I got some treats in store for you! Over the last couple of months you have no doubt felt that I have been slacking while Nick and Bruce have streaked off into the lead! (Damn worms 2 grrr) Well, let me tell you something! I haven't! I have been hard at work, converting, painting, uttering swearwords and playing a few test games! First things first, my puchases! 1x wraithlord (£15) 1x Chaos Rhino (£15) 1x fabius bile model (£ 5, on a discount from an independent retailer) Okay, that puts me £4 in the debt of next months budget. But is this the face of a concerned man?  Well, It appears that I am following my own advice in my new article on pacing myself and actually thinking about my purchases! First! Those pics of Lord Enash Pic to come soon! This model required minimal conversion. Basically a hand swap with two halberd heads stuck together for the weapon. I'm happy with the conversion, if not the paint job. 1 And now for my sick and twisted chaos dreadnought! Pic coming soon! Basicly a lot of green stuff, even more foul language, and two Talos claws later, I have a corrupted chaos wraithlord. Impressed? Good! You're one of the few! As well as modelling up these beasts, I have been using a couple of proxy models to try out the core of my force. This is the list I took against Bruce's Orks.
I really wanted to try out a few things like possessed with daemonic talons (essentially S5 rending claws! Gribble!) And Blast masters with tank hunters.(Nothing like van halen guitar soloing someone to death! RAWK N' ROLL!) Before the game, I did a SWOT analysis of my list before as the basis of my decisions as to what got tried out.
Well, if you haven't read the battle report look here It was a close one and I have learned a lot about this army and its mechanics. Yeah I did lose but we had a right laugh and I look forward to playing against him in the final battle report. (I'm gonna kick his arse so hard it'll register on the richter scale! Be warned!) I learned that: 1. Chaos marines are hard as nails! 6 possessed and 6 normal troopers hared off into the thick of 40 orks and 3 killa kans! And damn near won! The assault element works but needs flexible support. Maybe some Deamonettes and a another rhino are in order to fully back. 2. Sonic weaponry is ace! Those blastmasters tore through orks and vehicles like there was no tomorrow! I gotta get me more of these! 3. I need to protect Enash from pesky powerfists! Daemonic rune, though expensive, may help this. 4. Chaos dreadnoughts are nigh on invincible! (We continued after the random game length ended and the dread wiped the floor with everything!) So! On to next month. I reckon a Rhino and some deamonettes, as well as some more sonic weaponry is in order! If you'll excuse me, I have some painting to do, so I'll see you all later! 1, Shiny! Shiny!
