| Hi, and welcome to the first month of TOTG.
For this I've decided to collect Orks, this would be the second of my Ork armies, my first being the mighty Speed Freakz, so i would have somewhat of an unfair advantage with them. Luckly the new Ork Klan rules have just released and I plan to make full use of them. Looking over the rules I've decided on a Death Skull list, but using the Blood Axes models mainly because I like the camoflage and fluff. Setting my own army fluff as my Blood Axes have traded with humans long enough to have a large supply of Imperial Weapons, so alot of Lootaz would fit that. Now unfortunately I have not given my Warband or Warboss a name, so I will be making several, then making a poll within the forums to decide the name. Another lucky event happened a while back when I was offered a Ork deal from one of my mates. Quite a big deal for £30! Just what I would be spending each month, brillant! Now I know this would give an unfair advantage in the terms of this article, but treat it as a eBay auction and getting it really cheap! Searching eBay is a good way to pick up a good bargain, or asking round friends, some may have gotten whole armies and not done much to them, this Ork army has had all the models made and undercoated green, not much of a problem. Right, now a list of what I got: * 2 Ghazghkull Mag Uruk Thraka's (new style) * 4 Mega Armoured Nobz * 7 Nobz * 9 Shoota Boyz * 16 Slugga Boy * 12 Stormboyz * 5 Burna Boyz * 3 Big Shoota Boyz * 3 Rokkit Launcha Boyz * 8 'ard Boyz * 3 Killa Kanz * 3 Kannonz + 2 Crew each * 1 Death Kopta * 20+ Grots (alot with no bases, I will order some, but they won't count towards the monthly cost) * a few spares (including 2 normal Nobs without heads) Phew! A lot there isn't there, I will have one of the best starter armies in the article! Unfortunately I can't use 1 Thraka (only one Warboss) or the Dethkopta (Only useable in a Speed Freak force), those 2 models add up to a mighty £24! Both will be finding their way into my Speed Freak army, so they would not be unused. To replace the 2 models I searched through my bitz box to find replacements, I found 6 Slugga Boyz, 4 Burnaz and a mekboy with Kustom Force Field. With my army bought, all I need to do is plan and paint the army, this is a problem as I paint to a high standard, and with over 100 models I'm in for a hard time! So until next month, where I should be placing a mail order for some more Ork Boyz, some Imperial weapons and some heads for the spare nobz, goodbye and good health. | |
